The VCT Lockin is at its final stretch with only 4 teams remaining to try and win it all. We at Fanclash have got a list of select players who have astonished us with their recent performances and overall impact on their teams. With this in mind and in no particular order below is a list of 10 players who we think have shined above others and helped their teams cement a spot in the semifinals.
The below mentioned players range from the teams that have qualified for the semifinals of the tournament and have proven their caliber in previous stages of the tournaments, these players were judged on the metrics of how well they performed in their suited roles.
cuanzin
Cuanzin has been playing the secondary fragger role in the form of Skye and Breach providing invaluable support to his team, he is one of the most important reasons his teammate aspas is shining on Jett. Cuazin’s supporting talents have won his team Loud numerous rounds. He has also particularly shined on maps like Pearl and Fracture and has shown mastery of these two flash agents. I will equip him with the Helping Hand booster.
Stax
Stax is a capable player, to say the least, he was named the 5th best player in Asia in 2022 and has got many accolades under his belt. Recently Stax has shifted from his smoker role of playing agents like viper and brimstone to providing more support to his team in the form of playing initiators and agents like Harbor and kayo who are argued to have hybrid roles. This shift has proven successful for him and his team as he has been a huge asset in finding frags and timely assists for his team. He has especially been playing well on Haven and icebox. I will equip Stax with the I’ll Watch You Die booster.

Mako
Mako from DRX has played out of his mind in the ongoing VCT Lock In, and has found success in getting frags for his team while playing agents that aren’t designed for that role. Though he mainly plays passive smoke agents like viper and astra, his frags have been great, providing his team with the edge that they needed to defeat big teams like cloud9 in this event. He is a player that is doing it all for his team right now from getting clutch frags to providing assists to his teammates. He has played well on all maps but the icebox has been his playground. I would equip Mako with the Frag Leader booster.
Shao
Shao, currently playing for a newly formed roster of Navi has been one of the most consistent players from the VCT Lock In. He has been performing at a high level every game. Navi with its new roster has done a great job by securing the talents of someone like Shao who brings in the experience of a VCT master’s winner. Shao is known for his mastery of fade but has been experimenting and finding success with agents like Omen. Ascent and icebox have been his main maps where he performs exceptionally well. I will equip Shao with the I’ll Watch You Die booster.
cNed
cNed is a feared opponent and a nightmare for all teams. His skills on the operator have been so remarkable that teams have had to make changes to their strategies and rosters just to counter him. He recently has added the fragging duelist raze to his arsenal of agents which has proved difficult for teams to counter yet again in this tournament. His talents as an individual player have been key to winning for any team he has played on. He has won the champions tournament as well and has cemented himself as a legend of the game. His best maps for the tournament have been fracture and icebox. I would equip cNed with the Frag Leader booster.
Zyppan
Zyppan has been a beast on Kayo and has been the perfect fragging support for cNed. The new Navi invokes fear in their opponents by having a talent like Zyppan who has won a VCT masters event. His plays on kayo have been vital in his team’s success. His best maps have been fracture, Lotus, and icebox. I would equip Zyppan with the Helping Hand booster.
aspas
Aspas’s Jett has been the secret behind the success Loud has found. In a similar fashion to cNed, aspas has been carrying his team in terms of the sheer impact he has on the game. He has proved his caliber time and again when Loud beat big-name teams like Optic and NRG. Though Jett has been out of the recent meta, players like aspas have reminded everyone of the agent’s capabilities if played right. Aspas has been a beast on Split and Fracture. I would equip aspas with the Procession Starter booster.
Leo
Fnatic has recently acquired the talents of Leo who has been huge for his team. His talents on sova and fade have been the perfect combination of support and frags. He has been a key figure in unlocking Derke’s potential on fnatic which the team was previously lacking. The team has been dominating the tournament and has the potential to win it all thanks to its newly acquired talent Leo. I would equip Leo with the Damage Control booster.

Chronicle
Chronicle is a fierce clutch player who has single-handedly carried his team to victories. Chronicle has been doing it all in the form of support as well as fragging from playing agents like sage to raze and providing his team with whatever they need, fnatic’s competition has failed to have a response to defeat this flexible role that chronicle has successfully established. He has been playing great on all maps and has selected agents that he plays for particular maps. This ability to perform well in any role that his team needs has been the X factor behind Fnatic’s success. I would equip Chronicle with the Damage Control booster.
Derke
Derke has been the best player in the tournament so far. Fnatic has run through all their competition from teams like 100 thieves and Sentinels. Not only have they beaten these teams but have done so fairly easily. Derke has been the secret sauce behind this newfound success of fnatic. His Jett on all maps has a force to reckon with. He has been the best player in every game he has played this tournament so far. I would equip Derke with the Frag Leader booster.
